I Just completed reading Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton and had to share this book with you.

I realize this is completely off-topic but the story of this book and how it connected to me and how it can connect to you is something that I couldn’t not talk about.

In this memoir, Glennon tells us her story. From childhood and dealing with feeling separate all the way to find her way back to herself years later when her marriage falls apart.

You can get your copy here.

I connected with this book from the beginning. I too spend my life in my head hiding away from my body, I used to take long baths to hide from the world and myself.

Here’s what I learned from Love Warrior:

We are all a trinity!

Every one of us are Mind, Body and Spirit. And in order to feel complete, we must learn to connect to every one of these parts.

Connecting to your body requires attention

In order to connect to your body, you must learn to be present in your body and listen to what your body is telling you.
And as much as I would like to ignore it also means taking care of your body and moving it regularly.

Honor your Spirit and Breath

Your spirit needs time and silence to really show up. So we must all find the time to stop, breath and listen.

Know that you are loved fully and completely. Just as you are!

And that Grace is universal and we are all worthy of it.

I’ve also learned some new definitions of old words that given me a whole new perspective on what it means to be a women.

Here they are:

Beautiful
Is to be filled with beauty from the inside.

Sexy
Is being true to who you are.

A Love warrior is both strong and benevolent.

After reading the book I sat down and wrote all that I just shared with you. I wrote down what I had learned and then I asked:

How can I be a Love Warrior?
How can I honor my Mind, Spirit and Body?

I sat and thought about this and here’s what I have committed to doing for my journey as a Love Warrior, I will honor my:

  • Mind by reading and getting lost in a great book.
  • Spirit by finding the time and space to stop, breath and listen to my spirit and do what it asks of you.
  • Body by moving it and being present in it regularly.

How can you be a Love Warrior and honor all the parts of you?
